ciscotsp for CCM 5.04: any How To?
|

| Anthony Kouloglou 2007-05-24, 1:11 pm |
| Hi,
1. i have tried to configure it on a ccm 5.0(4) for the first time so i
can dial contacts from Outlook.
2. I have downloaded the plugin from the admin page of the ccm (version
5.1.018).
3. I installed it my PC.
4. I configure it: ie user, password and ip of ccm
the user has a phone associated with a phone.
But, in my outlook i cannot see the cisco tsp or the sepxxxx in my dial
lines.
I looked around but i could not find any guide about this.
Any ideas? Has anyone dealt with this in the past?

| There is generic documentation on configuring this on CCO, but it is
also written that this "is not supported by TAC". The last version they
released instructions was 3.x. Link below.

Make sure you install the Wave driver. There are instructions in the
ciscotsp.txt in c:\program files\cisco. This fixed the problem on my
system. About the only difference is that I'm running TSP version
5.1(1).
For Windows XP:
- From Control Panel execute the "Add Hardware" utility. Click the
"Next" button. Select "Yes, I have already connected the hardware"
Radio button. Click Next. Select "Add a new hardware device" from the
list.
Click the "Next" button. Select "Install the hardware that I manually
select from a list" radio button. Click the "Next" button. Select
"Sound, video and game controller" when prompted for hardware type.
Click the "Next" button. Click the "Have Disk" button when prompted
to "Select a Device Driver". Click the "Browse" button on the
"Install from Disk" window. Browse to
C:\Program Files\Cisco\Wave Drivers and select the file "OEMSETUP".
Click "Open" to install the cisco Wave Driver and select OK.
Highlight the "Cisco TAPI Wave Driver" in Select a Device Driver window
and select 'Next'. Select 'Next' in "Start hardware Installation"
window.
If Prompted for "Digital signature Not Found" click on "Continue Anyway"
button.
When prompted for "Install from disk 1" for file avaudio32.dll, choose
Browse button and select path "C:\Program Files\Cisco\Wave Drivers"
and click Open to install the avaudio32.dll.
When prompted to reboot your machine, do so.
Good luck.

| We had plenty of problems with TSP and 5.1, the best way to install is
to Pause or Stop the Telephony service then install the TSP and then
install the Wave drivers, if you are lucky it will work, we had about a
50/50 ratio of working against not working, which just doesn't make
sense even the PC's were exactly the same with the same build. Another
thing we found was that if you don't get it working on a PC, then you
never will no matter what we tried to do, either the TSP does not show
up in the Phones and Modems or it does show and the configure button is
greyed out, we had to re build a number of PC's to get this working
which is crazy. My advice is not to use TSP at all, especially if you
are going to be upgrading to 5.1. The trouble was we had given them
dialling from Outlook feature and then we couldn't really take this away
just cause we upgraded to 5.1, but I will not be trying to phase this
out ASAP.
