Author OT: CUAE 2.4 Beta Now Available
Louis Marascio \(lmarasci\)

Folks,

I know this is slightly off-topic but I thought I'd share as I know some
of you are into building IP phone services and other applications for
your CM deployments. The cisco Unified Application Environment (CUAE)
team has just released a beta of our next version, CUAE 2.4. This beta
is available for free to anyone with a CCO guest account. The official
CUAE page at cisco is here: http://www.cisco.com/web/developer/cuae/.
This page provides links to the CUAE downloads as well as pointers to
the 2.4 beta documentation.

Along with this release we are also making available a set of CUAE
sample applications to the Open Source community. These applications
include both simple examples that exercise various features of the CUAE
as well as a complete production quality Application Suite (formerly the
Metreos Application Suite). These applications and their source can be
downloaded from SourceForge at this link:
http://cuaesdk.sourceforge.net/.

Finally, when CUAE 2.4 is generally available you won't be out in the
cold if you want to build applications. The GA version of CUAE 2.4 will
also be downloadable for free to anyone with a CCO guest account, just
like the beta. You will be able to use the free software for
non-production purposes: build apps, test them out, tinker, whatever.

Oh yeah, one more thing: the free download comes with 6 ports of media
processing for the CUAE media engine. This gives you the ability to
build applications that do IVR, conferencing, text-to-speech and other
media like things. Again, this is all bundled with the free download.

Give it a whirl, and if you need help please come on over to the CUAE
Yahoo! Group (http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/cuae-dev/
<http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/cuae-dev/> ) or join us on IRC
(#cuae on DalNet).

Enjoy!

Louis

No it doesn't. CUAE 2.4 is compatible with CM 4.x and above. In 2.4 we
ADDED support for CM 6. Where did you see that it required CM 6?

Doh! No worries, CUAE 2.4 most definitely does not require CM 6.0. When
you can, let me know where you saw this and I'll make sure we get the
information corrected!

Take care,

Louis
