Author Can CCME be used for SRST purposes?

I'm about to install a CCME environment for an office
that handles a lot of emergency situations. My hope is
that when this office's connection to the CCM cluster
in the region that all CCME functions will take over
and this office can retain its full functionality. Is
this possible or am I supposed to configure SRST for
all of this extra functionality normally available
during WAN outages?

Paul

take a look closely at the requirements of using CME as SRST. i don't like
the restrictions, so we went with pure SRST if you can call it that.

in particular, the extra configuration steps, plus the difference in total
number of supported phones during the WAN outage. it might give you more
features, but we're hoping that there won't be so many WAN outages.

I believe it costs a bit more too.

My understanding is that it costs the same but you
will get a max of 240 phone fallback instead of 900+.
I will have to read this document carefully to make
sure we're not barking up the wrong tree.

Cisco has something called CME in fallback mode which I tried but
struggled with some features so where I need SRST I now use SRST and
where it is standalone CME I use CME. However - I get the feeling they
might roll it into one product otherwhise why would they start talking
about cme in fallback mode etc. Might be a good thing to consolidate
because currently it is a nightmare getting the right files / images
etc on a router and not as simple as it can be.
