Hi

If we have a regional IPT deployment (example, an US deployment; an EMEA
deployment; an APAC deployment), where there is a centralized CUCM
cluster and centralized Unity voice-mail, is there any legal restriction
and implication if voice mail are stored centrally in another country?

Regards
Boon Wah

Boon Wah,

The only legal issue I am aware of is in India.

As far as I know there law states that you can not use the internet to pas
voice traffic in and out of the country with the exception of inter company
communications

I am guessing that your company has a legal department, if so, I would
have them tell you/research it. Then if they are wrong, its not your
*** you have to worry about.

I do this a lot when there is any issue. (like disabling 911 from fax
machines.)

India is openning up pretty soon for PSTN Interconnect, cisco India
implemented a callmanager system partioned for pstn and voip access i.e that
too lines on one phone where one is used for PSTN and other one is for
Internal Voip calling and using partions and CSS PSTN line cant dial any of
the voip extensions.
