I am looking for a piece of hardware that I can purchase that can be used on
Skype as well as FWD? Are there any such out there?

If you mean by hardware headsets (analog, bluetooth, USB, with dial keypad)
then they usually work with all softphones no matter if they are SIP-based
like FWD or whether it's the Skype client.

Otherwise the only Skype compliant piece of hardware I ever heared of is
this
