WebSphere HATS - project was not built due to "projectname" does not exist/project

I have installed HATS on a developer's computer. WSAD is 5.1.2, HATS is
5.0.5.

I went through creating a new project using the wizard. When I click
FINISH, I can see an error in the task list saying "project was not
built due to 'projectname' does not exist". When I click finish again, I
get this message: "project creation error/'projectname' already exists."
I don't know what to do. An imported project seems to run fine, but a
new project cannot be created.

Something to note, he has clearcase installed in another directory. I
read somewhere this may affect other things.

Can anyone help?
