HATS Performance Tuning

Does anyone have any good reference material on HATS performance tuning? I
am interested in a whitepaper, redbook, or website to learn more about
performance tuning for HATS.
In our environment, the users are complaining of slowness of HATS vs. using
Host On Demand. One user reported a screen recognition of a page with
complex processing at 28 seconds. The same screen took around 9 seconds
with Host On Demand. Obviously, slow performance could be related to
several factors, but wanted to see if anyone had experienced similar
issues...
thanks!

There's a really good redbook about tunning WAS 5.1 on iSeries, I hope
it helps, the name is "Maximum Performance with WebSphere Application
Server V5.1 on iSeries" the book number is SG24-6383-00.

Of course your WebSphere environment needs to be tuned properly;
however, many of the recommendations in that book may not be appropriate
for a HATS environment, because HATS requires more threads and heap size
than other WebSphere applications.
There have been no published materials on this subject, so you should
contact your local IBM HATS specialists to review with you the
appropriate tuning items.
A great place to find information is in the HATS InfoCenter:
1. User's and Administrators guide, Appendix A, HATS screen-settling
reference
2. Advanced Macro Guide
3. User's and Administrators guide, Editing a Screen Customization, Next
Screen section. This is very helpful if you have hundreds to thousands
of customized screens.
