| Hello, I have two questions concerning HATS 6.0.
Does HATS support the tn5250E (E=Extended) Datastream? Cause I got some
problems with my application in HATS. At some point it ends the job
abnormally. This doesn't accure when using a standard telnet-5250 emulator.
Second Question: Is it possible to run the .EAR file on another server like
JBoss or Tomcat?

You would need to provide more details (errors, telnet server you are using and
such) or maybe open a PMR with IBM about your problem.

No.

| First I would like to thank you for answering so fast
Do you know why it is not possible to run the .EAR on another server? Is
this maybe because the 5250 conversion takes place at the WAS? are more
classes needed for the conversion besides those in the .EAR file?
I would like to know why exactly it is not possible.
concerning my other question:
I'm not using a telnet server. In the TCP/IP environment the AS/400 treats
connections as telnet5250. The problems occure when HATS is faced with
sub-windows. I believe the reason is HATS can't handle 5250E. In HATS when
setting up the connection configuration it is possible to chose from 3270,
3270E, 5250 but not 5250E...
Thank you in advance Mr. Martinez

Well, I don't know the technical details, but HATS is only supported on
WebSphere:
http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docvie...=en_US&cs=utf-8
&lang=en#1

Well, if you are accessing AS/400 using telnet, you are in fact using a Telnet
server (provided by OS/400).
The reason 5250E is not listed is because 5250E is not yet a standard, it is
still a draft RFC.
That said, if you are having problems with this environment, please open a
problem report with IBM (or post some more details about what is the problem).
If by sub-windows you mean subfiles, there is a lot of settings in HATS V6 to handle
them.

I don't know what you mean by sub-windows, but you either mean subfiles=20
or are referring to ENPTUI. As Juanma mentioned in his post there are=20
many settings for subfiles/ ENPTUI support was introduced in v6, but is=20
not enabled by default. Select the appropriate support.

|
| The errors occure regardless of ENPTUI enabled or disabled.
By Sub-window i mean the "pop-up-windows"
Subfiles are the lists, which work.

Dialogs then.
Can you give more details about what is the problem you are
seeing? Does enabling the dialog rule in the project (which is disabled by
default) change some of the symptoms?

I don't see either where those yellow lines come from, so I would suggest
you open a PMR about it:
