Just ran across this RFC and I almost wet myself.

Very interesting. Sadly enough, after those tests, the protocol has been
abandonned due to security issues : the attack known as PITM (Pigeon In
the Middle) has no clear solution.

Another failure is that there is no way to reliably read the message
send through Avian carier on linux with the 'cat' command...
