Tags are fixed. They can't be changed after they have been tagged.

I wish there was a way to lock down a directory with SVN after a copy.

No big deal in this case though because this is just stuff we don't need and
the point was
to really tag the pom.xml but let's all keep this in mind and part of our
religion. Next time you
can just change the trunk and release.

How did you get a commit to work? I thought I used the http URL instead of
https for the 'project' module within the svn:externals attribute. This
should have prevented a commit.

$ svn propget svn:externals

apacheds https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/di.../apacheds/trunk
shared https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/directory/shared/trunk
daemon https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/directory/daemon/trunk
project http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/dir...ject/releases/7

Odd and so you made your change to the project module and then committed
through this HTTP based URL? I thought that commits can only happen on
HTTPS. Can you do me a favor and just check inside the project/.svn
directory for the URL being used. Just do a head on the entries file in
there. If this happened through HTTP then we have an issue.

Thanks,
Alex

OK I think it's because I did a svn relocate recently at my local
fresh repo. But I still do not get it.

Oh so it is https in your entries file? This is very odd.

I really want to figure out what's up here because as a general tactic I
like to protect
externals to releases with URL's using the HTTP schema which I always
thought did
not allow commits at the ASF repo.
