| If you are using a usb adsl modem, do you have to keep your
pc/broadband on all the time to use the service? Thanks.

So that will take out about 705 of people. Most people uses a USB modem,
because most ISPs gives them away free.
Mind you most people I know do use a router, but only because I tell
them it is the best way to go and is better tha using a USB modem.
But if I did not advise them, then most of them would stay with the UsB
modem.

That was suppose to be 75% of people, not 750.
I have never said anything about keeping a USB modem, what I said is
that that most people will have a USB modem, which makes the Freetalk
adaptor useless. I just wondering how many people dixons are going to
con into paying sky high prices for routers?

I always have recomended a router, even if you only got one computer on
the net. a router offers better security, it do not take resouces away
from the computer and it is on all the time, no logtgin ionto the net is
needed.

Talking of which, I had to pop into P.C world this evening on the way
back from work, for some floppy disks. while I was in there I had a look
around for this Freetalk thing, just to have a nose. I could not find
anything about it, no posters, not boxes nothing. since Currys is next
door I popped into there as well. But once again, nothing about
Freetalk. Is DSG really serious about this Freetalk thing?

my local PC world had flag things at the tills but nowt else,
presumably you have to ask. Dixons in town had two piles of boxes - the
monthly and yearly versions, as did The Link.

I don't use them normally, but I got my Sata drivers on floppy and I
need it when I reinstall windows or use Ghost to reinstall the O/S.
I use Zip disks for documents.
