Freetalk billing issues

For all Freetalk customers out there, I would go over your bills (which
have finally started arriving) with a fine-tooth come. I've found
approx. =A330 of billing errors on mine -- from duplicated monthly
charges, to charges for calls to landline numbers being charged at
mobile rates.

No billing problems here with Freetalk mind you I never make any
chargeable calls the only grumble I have with FT is the 0871 contact
number, never had cause to use it but it narks all that same .

The problem seems to be calls to 023 92 (Portsmouth) and 023 80
(Southampton) are being charged as mobile calls, vs. landlines.

Name me one phone company that no one has never had billing problems
with and I will guarantee you temperatures of 90 degrees in London on
Christmas day .
Christ this guy would have really had something to complain about had
he signed up with Localhell sorry Localtel some years ago now that was
some rip off company .

I expect all phone companies have had problems at some point with
billing. I have just been very lucky and homecall have never billed me
wrong yet.

I used Localtel, I had no problem with them, the internet was a bit crap
until world online took them over and then it was great.
then Tiscali too them over and it got worse again.

I quite agree on a par if not slightly better than Vonage and in any
case why did he wait for his bill to arrive you can check your call
charges on line day by day .I used to like Voiphone but of late they
have gone all to cock you call them about something and they promise
to ring back the same day been waiting two weeks so for a call back.
In my opinion they have grown to quickly or tried to do so and the
service provided has now gone very poor .

It is a shame that they do not give a geographic number.
I just wonder how long Dixons will keep this for before they sell it to
another French company.

Did I say they weren't free ? .
19.99 for the box from any curry pcworld or dixon store and 6.99 a
month inclusive of all calls to geo numbers within the UK or 79.99
inclusive of all calls for a year .
A more reliable and cheap voip service you will find nowhere I am no
Dixon group lover but this service is exceptional .

What a strange statement; you turn this around to making it the
consumer's (my) fault that I've been charged incorrectly. And, for
your information, Freetalk don't offer online day-by-day billing -- you
can see the calls you've make, but no charging information is shown.
I've been told by Freetalk support that a number of billing issues have
arisen, and they are correcting their systems.
On the Freetalk service overall, aside from the billing issues, it is
faultless. So good in fact that I've canned by BT line.

I done all of that and have decided not to join them at the moment anyway.
They are LLU our exchange in Feb and while the speed would be nice, I
want an reliable ISp more than anything. The problem is, most ISps are
more bothered about the extras they offer than a decent service.

Sorry I agree with you I was getting FT mixed up with Vonage but I
tend to think that all people are like me and don't make any
chargeable calls using these services . I tend to use my Voiphone pre
paid account for any chargeable calls

There is just no point in having voip and a land line also unless you
are forced to do so due to not having a cable broadband connection .

I thought that at first myself, but then when some people showed me some
uses for it, I did change my mind.
It is just the sound quality which is a bit hit and miss.

I did not say if you did or did not, I asked a question, which is why
there was a question mark at the end of Free.

I know how much it is, I looked into it once, but decided it was not for
me, but then looked at it again, when I was looking at Bulldog.

So what happened to your great Vonage then?
The one thing that worried me about Freetalk is that Dixons will get rid
of it in a few years, sell it to the frogs and then the service will go
downhill, just like Wannabee have done.

It depends on who pay the highest price. anyway. Anyway, I saw how
Freeserve went, it was good to start with, but the service got worse.
Freetalk may g the same way.
