TCPIP to fax Adapter

| I am looking for a device which can do this which can allow a fax
machine to be located away from the phone socket via a TCP/IP
connection, wired or wireless.
It should be something link this
BT Socket<------->Ethernet(WiFi/Wired)<---------->Fax
Machine/Phone/Extension/Whatever
Are there any such devices?
If the normal DECT extensions can do this without a drop in quality
within the limits of house that should be fine as well.

No, and I think so, in that order.
I don't know of any device which will do this (though there are some
wireless telecom sockets around which may or may not work with a fax
(actualy, I can't remember if they are wireless, or use the mains
cableing much as some baby listeners do/did).
However, if my reading of things at www.voip.co.uk is correct, then as
long as you have broadband, you should be able to go bt socket -
ethernet switch (might be one of the funtions of your wireless adsl
router) - terminal adapter - fax. You have to pay a subscription to
voip.co.uk, and you then get a phone number which you can assign to the
fax machine (they suggest you could get two simultaneous "conversations
in addition to surfing/emailing on the same adsl connection). I don't
know if that would involve 2 terminal adaptors, or whether they do a
dual terminal adaptor.
I think sipgate and other providers offer a similar service
I am in the early stages of investigating this myself.

Alternatively, there are free and paid services which can allow you to
send and receive faxes via email if you aren't wed to the fax hardware.

AFAIK the Diverse dect sockets do support fax as does a product that BT had
out a year or so ago for extendng modems

Oops!
What I meant was
BT - Wireless Router - Wireless access point - Terminal Adaptor - Fax
OTOH, it might be a bit of a sledgehammer to crack a nut in this case.
I did notice on the details for the maplin device mentioned earlier in
the thread (phone extender that works via the mains wiring), that it
will work with an analogue line, but not with the analogue side of a
microfilter on a broadband enabled line.
Anyone know why this might be?

An ATA such as the Sipura3000 can be used to extend a phone
line, though it's intended for remote site connection, and
wiring would be more cost-effective (if feasible) for a
local network. I think the S3000 supports fax.
