VOIP Cheap Never Respond to Emails. http://www.voipcheap.co.uk

Hi Group,
This is a moan about VOIP Cheap.
http://www.voipcheap.co.uk and http://www.voipcheap.com same
company.
I am not complaining about the service, but i tried to log on my
account at my other address, and i got an error 4.
I emailed them on the response feedback page, and they didn't respond,
so again i filled in the response page, and again no response.
I attempted to ring the customer services, and i had a Foreign, answer
phone message, and then it went to English, about some crap, which was
irrelevant.
My concern is, if i ever get any Billing issues, then what am i
supposed to do?
I am tempted, to use all my credits up, and go to Skype, or any other
IP to Phone service.
Does anybody know, if VOIP Cheap is any good, and what other
companies, are there, other than Skype?
Thanks

I gave up on VoIPCheap for the same reason - crap customer service, well
non existent actually!
I'm with SIPGate now. Advantages of SIPGate are a proper Geographic
number for the area in which you live. Your credit doesn't timeout like
VoIPCheap's does. Disadvantages - 1.2p per minute!
Skype is no good for SIP users like me (I've got a SIP telephone, I
don't use the PC software).

VoIP Cheap gave me an 0121 number, as did their sister services, though I
use VoIP Stunt and Sipgate.

Yeh, me too. Some "normal" landline providers recognise it as geographic
(TalkTalk does) but others know its an "Other Service Provider" network
and charge all your mates the earth to call you.
Now I'm with SIPGate I've got a proper 01458 number!

If you get a proper 01 or 02 number like I did from VoIP Cheap/Stunt then
the caller will be charged as per 01 or 02 number for calling it, however as
VoIP Cheap/ Stunt only have limited areas you may get an 0560 number, some
operators charge the same rates to call 0560 numbers as they do 01 or 02,
others don't.
Sipgate does cover all area-codes, VoIP Cheap etc just a few.

Hi Iceman,
What exactly is SIP, and for what reasons SIP is
invented?
Thanks

Welcome Hi,
What are the URL's for VOIP SHunt and SIP Gate?
How good are they, and is it worth converting to them?
Thanks

www.sipgate.co.uk
Very easy to navigate site, unlike some I've come across..! Sipgate have
had more than their share of problems in the past, which has given them a
bit of a reputation for unreliability, but they have overcome this in
recent months and now have very little trouble.
Providers aside, what I've found over the time I've been using VoIP is
that a great many of the problems people encounter are not with the
providers but the users themselves..! The age of true plug & play is still
a way off with VoIP, most errors can be traced to user mis-configuration
of equipment, firewalls, etc..!
Don't know about most of the others as (apart from Gradwell and FWD) I've
never used them. Been with Sipgate since they first started in the UK and
see no reason to change.

You had a contact telephone number for VoIPCheap Customer Services?
Would you care to share that number or the web link you used to obtain
it?

A few lengthy calls to someone in the Central African Republic should
put you well on your way to clearing your account.

Isn't the system VoIPcheap have in place a pre-pay one? You give them
something like 10 euros and then make calls on that basis. In which
case they don't bill you or have any way to debit you.

I use both Sipgate and VoIP Cheap's sister service VoIPStunt.
I've found VoIP Cheap to be fine, just at one time you could only use their
software to make receive calls, so I switched to SIP Discount and then VoIP
Stunt.
With VoIP Cheap / VoIP Stunt, you just top up your account, as long as you
top up before your credit runs out you get to keep what credit you did have
on there, if you no longer wish to use them, you just don't top up again.
VoIP Cheap, VoIP Buster, VoIP Stunt and SIP Discount all gave me a standard
0121 number as they have codes for this area along with certain other major
area codes.

Forgot to post earlier that VoIPCheap.com and VoIPCheap.co.uk are run by the
same company but are different sites and you need different usernames, if
you signed up with the .co.uk site then you need to log in to the .co.uk
site, if you signed up to the .com site you need to log into the .com site.

Hi Brian,
Sorry i should have posted it.
I seem to remember, that
1) Click On About us at the bottom of the VOIP Homepage
http://www.voipcheap.co.uk/en/about.html
2) Dial the appropriate number. ( Keep Listening ), it will speak in
English.
VoipCheap is a service from
Betamax GmbH & Co KG
Im Mediapark 8
50670 Köln
Email: Please use the forms on our contact page
Tel: +49-221-3549565
Fax: +49-221-3549566
But its a waste of time, as no one answers or responds.
I hope this helps.

Hi Welcome,
You are right, you forgot.
And therefore i forgot to remind u, and kept trying to sign in at the
..com address, and thats when i got the ERROR 4.
I tried to sign in at another address in London, would that have cause
the error 4 ?
Or would it have seen a different IP address attempting a Log in?
The Muppets @ http://www.voipcheap.co.uk havn't responded yet.
And people searching for voipcheap on google should pick up these
keywords. " voipcheap voip crap tech support no good "
I think that should be enough for google to send people to this
posting in google groups..
Thanks

Hi,
It seems SIPgate , dont seem to provide Free international
numbers.
Voipcheap seem to, but if you usee your 300 minutes, then it jumps
over to charging you, which is fair enough.
Are the overall, calls cheaper with SIPgate?
With SIPgate, they have had reviews in the computer mags, here in the
Uk, that might just mean crap, its the opinions of the users that
count ..

what was happening as the problem occurred. Most of that problem was a
router glitch, which they gave me the fix for.
Both have offered better technical support than you generally get

One must be prepared to pay a reasonable amount of money if you want
good service and to date there are only three at present operating in
the UK that provides good service Freetalk,Vonage, and Voipfone. If the
masses of cheap skates and penny pinchers in this country are prepared

It makes sure that I am not charged anymore and also that my details
card numbers etc are no longer on their systems or should do .
I have nothing really against voip.co.uk it is just that I found them
rather inefficient unlike Voipfone .

Do you think perhaps that the differences between the companies might be
