Hi,

Just stumbled on this site: http://www.freecall.com/en/index.html

Wasn't sure if anyone had mentioned it / if people were aware of this other
member of the Finarea / Betamax stable.

Best wishes,

Are you the same person that miraculously stumbled on the last
Finarea/Betamax offering, and the one before that?

Are they still pocketing customers money from their accounts if the
customers do not top their accounts, even though the customers accounts
might be several pounds in credit?

Lol - I wish.

If I was then maybe I could get them to correctly apply mobile top-ups with
a 120 day expiry period as they are contractually obliged and as per the
legal and binding agreement they make at the time when such credit is
requested, applied for and made / purchased etc. (rather than the 60 days
they decide to pluck from the air and enter onto their systems to actually
give such users / customers!).

lol.

I must admit someone else previously has been far more successful in
discovering the new Finarea / BetaMax services than have I. This is the
first one I think I might have found that is either new / or previously less
heard of / etc.

Best wishes (And if you can get / know of any way to get that mobile credit
expiry period corrected I would really appreciate it ! - lol),

I have a sip discount account and number which cost me ten euro £ 7.00
at todays rates for 120 days they want a further 10 euro at the end of
the month to keep the account open . Since opening the account I know
I have made loads of UK calls and many calls to other places in the
world also and I feel that I must have had three times my seven quids
worth out of them at least and I still have over £ 6.00 credit left.
I shall without hesitation be topping my account up with another 10
euro before the end of the month you can't get a uk geographical
number from any provider for less and before you chirp in Ivor I am
talking about providers not MICKY MOUSE providers .

You CAN get a geographic number for less! Try www.orbtalk.co.uk

Judging by the IP address that this resolves to, it is part of the
voiptalk family. This, in my opinion, is not MICKY (or even MICKEY)
MOUSE nor is Sipgate for that matter.

We can all have our own opinions of the afore mentioned provider .

Tell me how ! this outfit requires you to place fifty quidsworth of
credit before they will give a so called free geo number in my book
that isn't free its damned expensive . I haven't spent that much on
calls including calls from my mobile in over two years in fact I don't
think I have spend ten pounds .
Now get your facts right next time .

I think we may be drifting off topic, but it's funny you should say
that JCH about the voiptalk "family". 2 things had made me think twice.
When I signed up for orbtalk I noticed the body of the sign-up form was
very similar to the free voiptalk account signup (see previous thread
on here about 2 months ago). In the "welcome" email with the account
details, the outbound proxy is: nat.orbtalk.co.uk:5065 . Voiptalk uses
nat.voiptalk.org:5065 . I hadn't seen this port used by any other of
the accounts I've played with. Funnily enough, my first attempt to set
up the account in Trixbox was to simply adapt the settings, changing
username, password and servers. It worked.

So.... are Voiptalk/telappliant trying the Finarea/Betamax tactic of
opening up different "shops"? Will more voip providers follow suit?

Ummm - dexter, it IS possible to sign up without forking out and you DO
still get an incoming number (FREE). Of course, to make outgoing calls
you will need to add credit (min 5 quid). The 50 quid reference is to
one of their "offers".

Try signing up to check it out for yourself.

Voiptalk were doing geographics for free on a special link page - (not
linked on the main site)
Also, afaik, orbtalk are doing free geographics.

Credit expires after 90 days.

You DON'T need to spend =A350 what are you on about? You can Join for
free, choose a Geo whilst joining and then choose to deposit credit or
not??? The =A350 credit that gives you a free ATA is an optional
product. The one I got would have cost me 40 quid or more anyway and
I'm spending =A320-=A330 quid a month on Orbtalk as opposed to more than
double that on my normal phonbe before. GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT NEXT TIME
