Voice Over IP in UK - University halls

Hi,

I'm just wondering whether anyone has been able to use an ATA in
University halls of residence which have only an ethernet/resnet cable
for each student.
My daughter has just started at university and I've bought her a USB
phone that she can use with Skype mainly because it's easy for her to
use and set up. Would be interested to hear how other people have
worked this out. Thanks, Hana
