Why not though, if it's so important?

I tried the former but it didn't work .. is it ok to call yourself
like that (X-Lite to phone on router via same account)?

Understood.

Ok ..

Ok, understood. Like, Primary DNS, Secondary DNS etc.

Feared as much ;-(

Ok ...

Ah, ok in principal thanks, I just need to get a better grip on what
is the best way to install this system re the telephone system we have
here before I spend too much time / effort setting up dialing rules .
shortcuts / phonebooks etc.

So, at the moment we have a BT line and an NTL one.

The STC 1x5 PABX is on the BT line and uses 9 for an outside line.

The NTL line terminates here (in the lounge) and our daughter has her
cordless phone base here (with a phone) and a remote charging base in
her room and a second handset.

One of the key purposes of checking out the VoIP was to drop her NTL
line (it has little use anyway) and replacing it with one of the two
VoIP ports on the Fritz.

So I guess this might need to work in two stages.

Initially we need to plug the Fritz into her NTL line and her phone
into Fon1 (for fail over).

She want's to be able to just pick up her phone and dial out using her
Sipgate credit (when to PSTN / Mobile numbers and currently that's
everyone) but to be able to receive NTL calls on the phone as normal.

If she get's mates on SIP she could then store any special prefixes in
the phone book on the phone or in the Fritz?

In the mean time I would fit a basic corded phone to Fon2 for my SIP
VoIP tests.

As/when we find this acceptable and drop the NTL line we could then
move iFritz over to an (my) extension on the BT line / PABX and she
would then make calls via our BT line or SIP as / when she get's
friends (specifically b/f to start with) online? I could then plug my
DECT phone into Fritz and use either SIP / BT (but probably defaulting
to BT till I get ENUM sorted / understood fully). ;-)

So I guess I'd like some pointers how I you'd ideally configure Fritz
to enable the above please?

I'm not sure if having one in place already (STC now Multimessage MMX
MX5) helps matters then?

One logical step at a time John .. I never was a chess player .. ;-(

All the best ..
