Just what does this unscrupulous useless company think they are doing
charging 19% VAT for their goods !not content with providing a
totally useless service it looks like now they have started to rip
customers of big time in other ways also .

Perhaps because the German government requires them to Ron.

They are probably in another EU country - Germany (19%), France (18.6%) etc.
If you are VAT registered then you can probably claim it back.

If you were VAT registered in germany, then you could claim it back.
If you are VAT registered in another EEA state, then once you have
exchange VAT numbers with the supplier, then they shouldn't invoice the VAT.

Perhaps they feel that it is appropriate to comply with the law? Why do
you think that is a bad idea?

Rubbish. It is a perfectly useable service.

It looks like you have gone off your trolley again.
If you dislike them so much, how come you are using them? Why not switch
to Vonage, and find out what being ripped off is really like?

Was he ever on it..?

Ah, but he *isn't* using them..! He gave them up about 2 years ago after
the system went off for a couple of days due to a major failure (it *was*
in their early days of UK operation) and hasn't stopped railing about them
since.
Don't get him started on Vonage..!

IIRC, they can still invoice the VAT if they want to, and you can claim
it back if you can be bothered.

The operative word being DID and only due to someone in this group
making out that they where the best in the entire world I soon found
out he was lying and this guy is still at it today .Whenever anyone
asks for recommendations for a voip provider he is at the keyboard
typing Sipgate, Sipgate, Sipgate before anyone else gets a chance to
recommend any other .
Take the trouble to check back over the last two years and count the
number of complaints posted here regarding Sipgate, if there was a
prize awarded for the worst provider Sipgate would win it without even
trying.

2 flaws in that argument. First one being that a newsgroup isn't a
definitive source of reliable information and secondly not every
single complaint against every single provider gets published on on
this newsgroup, and neither do any commendations, or very few at best.

3rd and 4th flaws - (3) the whole post is a load of rubbish and (4) it was
made by Ron Chew.
Oh yes (5) if Ron would actually dare to try Sipgate again (it's free, you
know..!) he might just find it works perfectly well since the registration
servers were upgraded last year. Although I know he won't, as he knows if
he does he stands a chance of having to admit I might just possibly be
right.

and shut up for a bit.

If you didn't keep changing your posting address, we wouldn't be reading
your drivel, or replying to it, as most of us have you in our blocked
senders list with several of your previous aliases.
Doesn't it send any sort of message to you as to why you have to
continuously change your posting address, just to get your posts read?

Not a chance buddy.
You see, unlike you, I see this newsgroup as a means of exchanging
*useful* information relating to VOIP and not as a platform for
presenting pathetic bigoted inaccurate information, in which your
biased childish ramblings seem to specialise.
I have learned much from this newsgroup but can honestly say that I
have never learned one useful piece of information from any of you
posts.
Have a nice life.

Having looked, it would appear that an alarming proportion of those
'complaints' were from one individual. It almost seems that this sad
individual bears a grudge. Nowhere easier to air a grudge than on the
Internet, of course - much easier than dealing with the real issues.

You probably already realise (I've probably missed your point, but I'll say
it for others who might not know), but that sad individual you're referring
to is the very person in this thread that you're replying to, who thinks he
can hide behind one of his many aliases.
It's none other than that saddo otherwise known as "Ron Chew", "Clavox",
etc.
