hi forum,

maybe someone can help me with the following "problem". the scenario is, that i'd like to implement a groupware system for my company (mid sized with branches accross the globe). right now there is one centralized mailserver (sendmail). to receive e-mails, the branch offices log on to the server and receive their mail. now, i'd like to implement a new mail server AND a directory server which is based on the LDAP protocoll. are there any suggestions how the current architecture setup can be improved? what about having a seperate mail and ldap server which synchronize withing constant time intervals or does the current setup make more sense. i'd like to mention that the branch offices are small ( 5 people at a max ). what about the LDAP directory. i think its the best solution would be a server in each office to avoid centralized storage ( in case the server is down and noone can access the stored contact details )...i hope you could follow my problem, feel free to write an email if there is any suggestion..

thx very much
