Hello everybody,
I have just successfully installed Mandrake 10.1 with Apache2 (I used CD
rpm's to install Apache with php and mysql support) and I encountered a
certain problem. While I wanted to install Mambo Portal Server on my
machine, mambo installation told me that my Apache (or php) does not
support XML. After checking out google I foud out that expat component is
required - still all the descrition showed how to compile Apache with
expat and none described how to add expat when Apache has alredy been
installed (if this is really possible). I found expat rpm for mandrake and
installed it. After restarting httpd service nothing changed. I have
already reinstalled Apache2 twice (using Mandrake's rpms) and did not get
any positive results. I ran out of ideas except for building Apache from
binaries. Maybe someone could give me a few hints what to do to obtain
'XML support' in Apache?

Regards,

Piotr

PS. I found some lib2XML but id does not work as well.

Apache doesn't know anything about XML, so I guess that the one to
configure is PHP. Check the documentation of that thing you are trying
to install.

You have to install the php-xml rpm package.

You may have to manually edit tht php.ini file.
