I installed xampp and easyphp 1.8 on Windows XP fundamentals for legacy pcs
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Window..._for_Legacy_PCs
on a pentium II 300 mhz but when I start the apache server the cpu goes to
100% then stops after 30 secs
giving no errors even if I run it using the batch file from the command
line.
Reading the Xampp faq I saw that IIS block apache.. but there is no IIS,
I did a port check and it was ok... I stoped all programs and all services
accept the very basic ones,
but no go.... no skype (as the xampp faq says).

the people on the xampp forum told me that without a error warning they have
no way of knowing whats wrong and to
ask apache people.. so thats why im here...

any ideas????

Appears your Apache is set to dump some log to the trash can.
However, this *nix device name is invalid on Windows.

Rather than trash the log, don't generate one!

Check your config for '/dev/null/' and change or inhibit the line(s).
