If anyone is interested, I've compiled several solutions I developed
for simulating virtual hosts with Apache's mod_rewrite. There are some
practical examples and comprehensive explanations included.

I devised these methods over the course of several years for my own
shared hosting account, so they've been optimized and tested for use in
that kind of production environment (that is, without root access to
the Apache server).

Anyways, I figured it might be worthwhile to finally make these into a
resource for other Apache users, since it seems to be a common subject
of inquiry.
