Site Setup Questions; Apache, PHP, MySQL, MediaWiki Configuration

| I am semi new to the apache2/Winodws environment I have done it before
about 2 yrs ago, but nothing this complex. I was able to install
Apache, PHP, MySQL, MediaWiki.
But I am having 2 issues.
First; my ISP filters port 80, I have had to move that port to a
different port. The problem arises when go to another page. The url
defaults back to http://somesite/somefile from
http://somesite:8080/somefile which works. Somehow I must enforce this
port number every time the page changes. The defaulting back to site
name without the port number happens whether I inside or outside of my
local network. Its annoying and the site will instantly come back up if
I include the port number again.
Second every time I go to a new directory that include an index.php
file, instead of launching that file automatically the site just enters
a directory view. I can't remember where I have to configure this
information.
Third: because I want to keep my security as simple as possible, and I
want to know if I can used the window user authentication that internal
to the system so when a person connects to the site the will be
prompted to log in or be denied. If so how, or is there a better,
easier, more secure way of doing this?
Forth: Even though the system is sitting behind a router with a
firewall built in firewall with only a few ports forwarded to the
system and a dynamic IP (the entire network not the server). Should I
consider adding a software-based firewall to the server as well, or is
the windows one good enough? I don't expect a lot of traffic. This
site is only for a few friends.
Thanks
