Hi guys,

decided to rise web server on my new laptop but was stopped with one
stupid problem. Laptop runs under WinXP Media Center edition and i
found out that it's imposible to create virtual hosts here. Browser
can see only 127.0.0.1 - all others produce browser's timeout. I tried
both - 1.3.6 and 2. versions of Apache. But seems it is windows'
problem.
Maybe sombody is familiar with solution - would be extremely
appreciated.

You're trying to use name-based virtual hosts? If yes, you must edit the
hosts file in \system32\drivers\etc\ and then configure apache as
described on http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/vhosts/name-based.html

I run apache 2.xx on my media center without any problems at all so I gather
that this is a config problem.
