Alternative to apache proxy reverse server ?
|
|

| Hello,
I have tried to use apache as a reverse proxy but it doesn't work
for my application :
the 'proxied' http server is a custom software and the client side
authenticates the connection by using the http server header... which
is modified by the apache proxy.
Is there a simple "port forwarding" application (Linux) that doesn't
modify anything in both http streams ?
I'm currently trying to see if Eddie project is what I'm looking for.
Thanks for your suggestions.
Emmanuel.
PS : Nope, my sys admin won't configure the firewall to do the job.

I'm currently looking at this option right now,
but it won't be easy to configure and test on the production server
(reboot, reboot...) !

No problem, it's not my job, it's his job to configure iptables
Thanks.
Emmanuel.

?? reboot ?? what reboot ? You don't need to reboot to test a new firewall
script.

Forget it. I was thinking of recompiling the Kernel though, but it's
appartently not necessary on my Linux box.
