Hi !

It's 3 times already that my index.html main page of my internet site
has been changed by a hacker.

My site is hosted by a company on an apache server.

Does anyone knows how may I protect my files for further intrusion ?
How do they get in anyway ?

Thanks in advance,

@Bog

Yes, change hosting company, 'cause evidently they have some kind
of trouble.

Ask them (the hosting company), it could be that your username/password
is just too simple to guess, or it could be something else

This has nothing to do with Apache or Configuration, you'd better start
complaining with your hosting company and seek legal advise.

Firstly, you could start having respect for the hackers and the hacker
culture that gave you Apache and other software for free:

Then you could ask questions the smart way:

I think Ottavio is trying to say, "don't say 'hacker' but do say
'cracker'"! ;-) I am wondering -- do you have Frontpage extensions
enabled on this Apache server? If so, there are probably a few
different ways someone can get in... or ... whoever maintains the box
your site is on is probably serving up several virtual hosts... they
may have a hole in security somewhere that allows another user on the
same machine to access different parts of the file system(namely your
DocumentRoot directory). Definitely change your provider. Did you
complain about this before to them? If so, 3 strikes and you're
fired!!! There are lots of good inexpensive and SECURE providers out
there. Take your business to them!

Good Luck,

Harlin Seritt
