RH 8 is more than 10 years old. If you don't have any real necessity
for keeping such thing alive I'd suggest to upgrade to a more recent
version, you'll get Apache and php for free.

1. download Apache sources
2. download php sources
3. check if all the requirements and dependencies are satisfied
4. follow the instructions.

Or

1. Upgrade your system.

Redhat 8 was actually released around 2001 or so... 10+ years is
something of an exaggeration. In quite a few production environments,
Redhat 8 is still used -- unfortunately a few "enterprise" applications
require it -- a certain version of WebSphere Portal I know for a fact
still requires it. Also, this fellow's English tends to make me think
he could possibly be in a part of the world where he's not able to get
his hands on the latest and greatest -- I dunno. But Davide is correct
for telling you to upgrade it if you're trying to get Apache and php to
work together. You can use something like Fedora Core 6 (or 5 is still
good for now) or even CentOS for production caliber. On these, Apache
and php install together unless you tell it not to.
