I'm having trouble starting apache2 on a solaris 10 server. The
message I'm getting in the apache error log is this:

[Tue Jul 24 10:20:41 2007] [crit] (13)Permission denied: mod_rewrite:
could not create rewrite_log_lock
Configuration Failed

The first thing I tried was setting the RewriteLock directive to point
to a location that I knew was writable by the apache user. That didn't
work.

Then I tried starting with RewriteEngine set to "off", but I still get
the same error. Anyone have any ideas?

Apache version is 2.0.52.
SunOS: SunOS libsearch 5.10 Generic_125100-04 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-
Fire-V245

Thanks for any help,
