Hi there peeps,

This is my first post on this forum and I am new to this area. I am writing
a web service in PERL (a kinda search engine) and have been coding it for a
few months now.
I was using Samba server to test my code locally which worked fine, all of
my stuff was done using the localhost address. I've just re-installed my OS
and was wondering if I should install Apache instead. I beleive it is much
more fully featured and have heard that a mix of PERL \ Apache is the norm.

I'm running XP on a fairly fast connection and want to do local stuff and
maybe mess around doing some hosting myself. Is Apache the way to go?

If I should run it then what do I do when it asks me for domain\server names
when i'm installing? Should I go for "only for the current user - port 8080"
option.

Soz if this is a bit basic but thanks for the help

Take care

Steve
