I need free web sever (platform is not important) with at least 50 mb of

Thank you.

hmmm. that comes across as a recommendation

not everyone will know that ableinternet is now one of your brands -
especially as you still have your domain advertised in your nic

There is already one poster in aww who doesn't know whether s/he is supposed
to be recommending or advertising - please don't join him/her.

Toodle pip.

If you go to http://www.ableinternet.com, prominently displayed is
AffordableHOST, Inc. However, adding a "we do that" in there would have
made things more obvious. And the fact that the account isn't truly
"free."

Okay, let me clarify...

If you go to ableinternet.com, you will see that it resolves to our
AffordableHOST.com site...but to a page that has information on the free
hosting package. Given that, plus the recent threads here about the
take-over...I honestly didn't think that there would be any confusion. My
mistake.

Yes, there is a one-time $5 verification/setup fee so that we have an easy
way to make sure you are who you say you are AND to offset the cost of
manually processing these 'freebie' package deals - but, after that, the
hosting account is free.

Hosting on these include space/transfer, FTP, 100 email forwards, up to 5
domains pointed to the main page, Cpanel and probably some other stuff I'm
forgetting right now. It also entitles you to discounts on our other
services, should you ever wish to upgrade or use anything else we offer.

Umm...look again. That resolves to www.ableinternet.com. Do you have
a mirror page on you site? If so, do a permanent redirect.

Consider the newbies. However, that big Affordablehost logo should
have quickly clued them in.

No. The account costs a non-recurring $5 charge. Perhaps you should
call it $5 the first month, with no monthly fees thereafter.

Not a bad deal. However, still not "free."

I said our AffordableHOST.com SITE...I didn't say domain name. Anyone, with
any ounce of smarts, can clearly see that it is the AffordableHOST.com site.

Not only does it say, right at the top:

"ABLEINTERNET.COM ACQUIRED BY AFFORDABLEHOST, INC.

AffordableHOST, Inc., acquired AbleInternet.com on October 24, 2003. "

But it has our header, logo and every single link on that page goes to
affordablehost.com something.

Hehe. You'd hope!

non-recurring and one-time mean the same thing. I'm not going to argue the
point and I'm not going to change the way its worded either. Its just so
unimportant and silly, as far as my time is concerned.

Honestly, whatever you want to call it is fine by me. I didn't have an
opinion on it when Charles owned AbleInternet - and I don't have an opinion
on it now. ;-)

I don't usually think of a SITE as being on more than one domain.
This just doesn't make logical sense.

I'd still say do a redirect, even though this isn't really that
confusing.

It is for some. I got in at Ableinternet before they started
charging. Thus, at least I really do have a free Affordablehost account.

I have free hosting too, at various prices per account per month. The free
hosting packages increase with the bigger account you get. :-P

(Seriously, this is a fun jab, not picking a fight! ;-))

Also an indication of your inability to comprehend the written word. The
hosting is free. The verification charge isn't.

Don't worry, you're not the only one who suffers from this word blindness.

(just a fun jab)

*smack* ;-)

But seriously... my hosting is also free--people only pay for the account
with my company. Here are some word glasses... *jabs back*
