| I'm having huge problems with Apache2. I just installed the latest
stable version of the win32 binary (2.0.48) and I am unable to stop
it, from the command line or the service manager.
Not only is it impossible to stop it, but when I try it crashes my
Win2K SP3 system after about a minute or so! This has happened three
times in a row, and it also happened every time when I tried stopping
the previous "stable" version. I haven't touched the default
configuration that it installs with.
The only clues it gives me are the following messages in error.log:
[Wed Oct 08 11:23:12 2003] [notice] Parent: Forcing termination of
child process 292
[Wed Oct 08 11:25:44 2003] [notice] Child 2460: Terminating 2342136
threads that failed to exit.
I don't know whether it's really created over two million threads, but
I guess that could explain a lot...
Does anybody know anything about this? Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Manne
