There aren't. There are just different packages: windows users are
familiar with .zip and .msi, while unix users are familiar with
gzipped or bzipped tar packaging, and there's the issue of lineends.

Of course, chances are anyone capable of building on windows is likely
to have no problem unpacking .tar.gz, just as a unix user can extract
from .zip. So that's arguably superfluous:-)
