I know whatever way I word this I am going to sound like a complete newbie but I'm sure I 've missed something small so here goes.

I have registered a domain name, have the name pointing to DNS (Zone edit) and have configured the DNS to point to my static IP (not network IP). I've tried to access the site and seme to be getting only the router admin page (which, by the way, is a dlink dsl G604T). My Web server is an XP machine with Apache server running basic php scripts and mysql. (I know, I know the big question why?? - familiar micro$oft environment). Anyway, I've forwarded both port 80 and 443 to the internal network address of the web server and then run through Shields Up! to check if port 80 is open, no such luck! The port is being recgnised but jsut not open. I did have Windows firewall running but have since disabled it along with Norton AntiVirus (just in case the requests resembled some sort of worm)

I ran through Shields Up! again and still no joy. I have Apache configured to listen on port 80. Apache version is 1.3.33, php version 4.3.10, mysql version 4.1.9 and MyPHPAdmin version 2.6.1. Any suggestions or help would be great. I can give you site details in PM.

Thanks in Advance, Grant

Edit: I have tried to access the domain from outside of the network using a program called "Sam Spade:. Here's the results of the request.

06/02/06 22:37:12 Browsing http://www.ozstitch.net
Fetching http://www.ozstitch.net/ ...
GET / HTTP/1.1

Host: www.ozstitch.net

Connection: close

User-Agent: Sam Spade 1.14

Socket Error

I dont understand the socket error. Is this related to SOCKS??

OK, downloaded a new package called Xampp with Apache 2.2. Seems there was something wrong with 1.3 or the config script. Have gone through and checked now that ports 80 and 443 are open and are being forwarded by the router (dlink G604T) . Xampp did an automatic config of the httpd.conf file. Attached is its version of the file. Cna someone please tell me what the hell I am doing wrong. I can navigate to the localhost and typing in my LAN ip will also give me the desired result but from outside the LAN I still get nothing. Please HELP.
