Back Button forces page to reload. Not going back to previous page

Hi,

Here is an interesting problem. Users navigate to our site from 3rd
party advertisement sites, they are unable to go back to the
advertisement site as once they landed on our site, using BACK BUTTON
only refreshes to the page where they landed on and doesn't allow them
to go back in history.

Is it a known issue. Any suggestions would be helpful.
