WAS Express server on the HTTP console
|

| When I look at the HTTP console (port 2001), the name of my WAS 5.0 Express
server appears twice on the line separated by a slash. For example, it says
the server name is wvtest/wvtest. The server works for the most part. The
only glitch I've found occurs when I try to install an application. The
default pathname includes the duplicated name and is therefore wrong. It
was right about a month ago and all that we've done in the interim is apply
PTFs.
Has anyone else seen this?

| Rob,
Starting in 5.0.2, the HTTP Admin GUI will show instance/server for
the name of an Express server (for Express instances this should
always be the same.) This change is to make way for the support of
WebSphere V5.0 Base application servers in an upcoming GUI refresh.
For Base, a mismatch between instance and server name is valid,
requiring the GUI to display both.

| Yes, I've seen it as well. Yesterday I wanted to start the instance and
noticed the same nameformat (WEBFACING/WEBFACING). When I had started the
server instance and refreshed the screen, the name was back to normal
(WEBFACING).
The same about PTFs - only applied the latest group PTFs a couple of weeks
ago...

| Christain,
What happens the next time you go into HTTP console? Is the name duplicated
again?
My servers are configured to start with subsystem. I tried stopping and
starting a server, but the name was still duplicated.

| Sorry, my mistake - I confused it with an APACHE server with the name
WEBFACING right above the Express server.
Maybe this is nothing to worry about? Perhaps the name is now made up of
both the server and the instance name? Everything seems to work normally
disregarding the name is shown differently.

| I opened a PMR with IBM. It was identified as a bug, and a PTF will be
available (hopefully next week). I'll post the PTF number here when I get
it from IBM.
