Well I'm having problems configuring my IHS 1.3.26, I just got a new laptop and began by installing Java JRE/SDK 1.4 - then IHS and WAS. I've been having all kinds of odd things happening, updates using the admin webpages weren't working. I then saw someo
ne say that IHS came WITH Java 1.3 as standard and it wasn't possible to use 1.4 - oh dear, so I thought I'd better remove my JAVA_HOME variable and uninstall the JRE/SDK 1.4 - since then I can't even get the Admin webpages to show. Though of course I've
made other changes to the config during this time :-<

Now I get the Welcome to IBM HTTP Server page on http://localhost/ but if I try to configure server it just hangs with the Loading IBM Administration Server

Now I assume this is cos I've somehow screwed it up by removing the Java 1.4.

I assume what I need to do, is uninstall IHS, WAS and reinstall them ! But before I go down that road, can anyone advise as to weather this is infact most likely my problem ?

thanks for your time,

Daniel

Sounds like the browser doesn't have a JDK needed to load the IHS admin.
I'd check to see if you have problems on other websites that have an applet.
If you do, that is the problem. If not, then it might be a IHS problem.
Not sure though.

Well I went back to the beginning.

Uninstalled W Applic Server & HTTP server.
re-installed them

Now I get the admin console coming up (including my OLD extra config - a virtual host)

But now when I try to delete this V host, or add another, or add a directory and hit SUBMIT nothing happens - I can stop start server, still nothing :-< Rather annoying to say the least.

Any ideas ?
