Hi,

In the last 2 days we have started to have performance issues with our
production IBM HTTP Server on linux. Http server crashed sometime
yesterday, machine was restarted, http server restarted under root, was
fine for a while, but next day performance was poor again.

Our ISP says there are no DNS issues. Machine has 2 Gb RAM. The machine,
http server were running fine for the last year or more (http server last
restarted 4 months ago).

the MaxClients is set to 150 (the default?), other values are defaults in
conf file. Threads currently using 7.5 Mb each.

The problem is intermittent, page is set as my browser homepage,
opening/closing 20 times in a row, is a second or less for 12 hits, 3-4
seconds for 3/4 hits, and 10-20 (or more) seconds for remaining, with
occasional 'Page not found'. Page to display is Portal server home page,
is fine navigating portal once logged in.

Anyone have any ideas...

Thanks
Michael
