Administration server in IHS 6.0.2
|

| Disclaimer: I'm sure this going to be a simple answer, but...
After installion of IHS 6.0.2 on Windows 2000 I cannot connect to the
Administration Server because, apparently, the required files are not there.
The Administration Server service is running, I can connect to
http:\\server:8008, but it says "page not found" and the log file says that
"[drive]:\apache does not exist", which is true. The software was installed
into [drive]:\program files\IBM HTTP Server, and there is an admindocs
folder, but it is empty.
What have I done wrong?

| Hi John,
I have got the exact same problem. I have installed this through both the typical and custom install. There are no admindocs installed with version 6.0.2. I happen to have installed this on Windows 2000 also. I have not got an answer to this but hope some
one will.

| Hi John, Litewait,
i have the same problem!!
Have you a fix for it? :-(

|
| I have the same problem and in fact i have previously installed WebSphere 6.0 successfully and am using it. According to the documentation, WebSphere admin console should have seen and control the IHS 6.0 but it does not...
I can run ./adminctl start and i see the http process listening on the port 8008 but I can not connect to it with a browser. It returns HTTP 404...

The admin server in v6 doesn't work the same way it used to. It
is not designed to be accessed by a user from a browser. Instead,
the user is expected to use the WebSphere Admin Console, which
will use the IHS admin server under the covers to perform the
administration.
