Since 7.3 all pieces of hardware I have thrown at SUSE always worked out of
the box (two desktops and one laptop with various cd and dvd drives, cd
burners, printers, cameras, internal and external modems etc). As I have
never consulted SuSE's hardware database before purchasing stuff and
judging from some group members' experiences I have probably been lucky  .
I should add that my laptop had another brand of Linux pre-installed so I
believe that was a safe choice.
