I have now fixed the printer not working on normal resolution
fault. Just in case anyone else comes across this, what happened
was:-

I sent a request to the printer from gedit, forgetting the
printer had been disconnected. The result for some strange
reason was the /etc/cups/printer.conf file was updated
stating that the printer in that resolution was no longer
available. So I went in and manualy edited the config file
to say its no back up 'Idle' and ready!

I also erased all files in the /var/spool/cups/temp directory.

Works ok again.
