ftp exception when updating wcs 5.5.0.1

hi,
when updating to wcs 5.5.0.1 i get the following exception:
unable to access site stream:
ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/software...dio/PE/site.xml
sun.net.ftpFtpProtocolException: RETR
/software/websphere/commerce/55/5501/PE/site.xml

it works fine on another machinge with the same configuration.
any ideas?
