Dear all,

in our production environment (WCS v5.4/WAS 4.0.5/iSeries) the wcs.log
file is getting rather big.

My question is:
If the WCS instance i s s t i l l running and I try to rename the
wcs.log will this have any bad side-effects?
i.e. will this crash my server? will the instance create a new wcs.log
on the fly?

The same question goes for the WAS logs:

If the WAS instance i s s t i l l running and I try to rename the
log files:
activity.log
admin_stderr.txt
admin_stdout.txt
native.log
sas_server.log
tracefile

am I going to have any problems???

We run in Solaris 8.. Deleting the file is not an issue, however it won't be
written to or re-created after deletion.
