Could anyne guide me in this peculiar issue which am facing with IBM web services.

In My Project we are using WAS.
we have a client which uses our web services.. Client connects to Node 1 server which is a IBM WAS and we have non binding(Soap Elements) web services deployed which just behave like routers. And node 1 communicate to Node 2 which also is a WAS and we ha
ve binding and business logic in Node 2. There is a also web service client on node 1 for connecting to node 2. Now the question is the performance is remarkebly difference when End Client directly communicates to node 2. Node 1 just behaves as a router t
hen why it takes double the time to route the message with node 1? Is it a issue since client and server are in same JVM on node 1? please advice.
Client to Node 2 complete operation completes in 1 sec . If node one is introduced it takes 1.8 second. Surprising why its almost double when node 1 doesnt even bind object but just forwards the soap elements in request and response.

what could be the reason?
