Hi all,

We have a requirement of integration of webshpere commerce server with JD Edwards OneWorld B7333 SP 23. Is there any adapter available from either JDEdwards or IBM for achieving this through JCA (Java Connector Architecture) or Service oriented architectu
re (Web services)?

Any custom adapter from thirdy party will also do. Kindly request you to provide the relevant information.

Thanks in advance.

Sudhakar

What kind of integration are you talking about?
If it is to do with data, Commerce already has many techniques to integrate with backend applications

1. MQ integration
2. Plain XML over HTTP integration
3. WebServices based integration

Thx.

Thanks for the info.
I am talking about intergration of web commerce server with JD Edwards ERP system (Back end) - this would be purely from the data exchange point of view.

1. Leveraging the avaialable techniques as mentioned by you, does one need to write custom code (data communication code) with JD Edwards to achieve integration, without having to use additional softare component?

Based on the readings so far, it is observed that there are adapters available in the market for seamlesss integrtion with JD Edwards ERP system. These adapters must be using using Java API provided by JD Edwards system at their end.
The adpaters can interface using one of the following.
- Java connector Architecture
- Web services

On IBM front there is an adpater avaialable - WebSphere Business Integration adapter for JD Edwards.

2. However using this alone, can commerce server be interfaced with JD Edwards system? OR Do we need additional software in conjuction with the adapter?

As per IBM one of the broker (Interchange server, process server, etc) would be required along with adapter. By using other vendor adapter there would not any need for additional software.

My doubt is:
Is there is any adapter from IBM which is directly deployable in web commerce server without having to use additonal software component?

Thanks & Regards,

We had done integration using MQ,
Basically commerce automatically fires outbound messages to MQ outbound queues (Commerce needs to be configured with MQ for this)

We had to develop a custom app, this app reads the data from MQ and integrates this data to the AS400 legacy DB.

I have never worked with third party adapters/ commerce adapters etc.

In your case if the commerce server was able to fire outbound messages to MQ, which in turn transfers the messages to AS/400 system. Then surely there might have been MQ integrator code at AS/400 end.
