IBM are running a project to write an update to the Service Oriented
Architectures and Web Services redbook. The residency will run in Raleigh,
NC for six weeks starting March 22nd. Nominations close Feb 20th. IBM will
pay all travel and living expenses.

Redbook description
----------------------
This redbook will examine the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). It is an
update to SG24-6303. It will cover techniques for designing and developing
an SOA implementation using Web Services and messaging technologies. A
sample business scenario will be developed, demonstrating how the SOA can be
used with the direct connection and service router patterns. The scenario
will include connectivity to new and legacy applications. The book will be
part of the Patterns for e-business series. Additions to the topics covered
in SG24-6303 will include:

- Enterprise Service Bus
- Integrating legacy applications with J2C and WBI adapters
- Service router with the Web Services Gateway
- Data transformation
- Process manager integration
