Author cn=root(or other valid DN) ....is this a unix (AIX) ID?

During first-time install of IBM Tivoli Directory Server 5.1, we have to configure the LDAP Admin ID/passwd. Instructions say "In the Administrator DN/password window on the right, type a valid DN (or accept the default DN cn=root) in the Administrator DN
field."

My question is, is this cn (root or any valid DN) a unix (AIX) ID?

thanks.

Hi,
No the cn=root(or other valid DN) is not an AIX ID. This is the dn of the administrator of Tivoli Directory Server.
hope it help

Thanks Largou,
So when we first install the product can we have any name for Administrator DN? (like cn=root or cn=jack)? or does root or jack have to be predefined somewhere?

Thanks.

Hi,

the administrator DN doesn't have to be predefind, it has nothing to do with
OS users. You can use any name.
Please read the manual.

Henk

I am trying to find the code for fix pack 2 for the embedded version of WebSphere Application Server - Express V5.0, was50_express_fp2_aix. but all I can find is the fix pack code for Base and ND. Any pointers to where I can find the code?

Thanks.
