Websphere 6.0 server starts but does not get initialized with error message:
[i]com.ibm.websphere.management.exception.AdminException
Failed while trying to start the Windows Service, retCode=-1[/i]

Don't start it as a service, start it from the command line. You'll have
more idea what is happening. Also, look at the logs.
