Websphere vs Websphere Express
|
|
|
| Hi,
I am evaluating if Websphere or Websphere Express is right for me. On the IBM website it's difficult to find out what are the real differences.
What I know from other app servers which have full and limited version is a difference in the level of J2EE support. Often the limited versions has only web-app but no EJB support.
On the IBM Websphere pages I find contradicting statements here. On http://www-306.ibm.com/software/inf.../apptransaction it is written that WS Express has no EJB/JMS support, but on http://www-306.ibm.com/software/webserv
ers/appserv/express/features/ it is written it has.
What is true?

Both. Express didn't have support for EJBs in version 5 but it has in version 6.
The only real difference in version 6 between WAS Express and WAS is the number
of processors on the machine you can use them (2 for Express).
You can find a comparison list of both at:
