How can we recycle an Application Server (jvm), so we will not loose any current transaction?

WebSphere is an XA transaction coordinator - it will automatically use
the transaction logs to recover any in-flight transactions after a
failure. However, if you do a controlled shutdown, it should complete
any in-flight transactions before it terminates. ie, do not kill the
java process.
