Hi

As a first timer with websphere I'm trying to install 5.1 on AIX 5.2.
When the installation starts most of the test in the X-Window is
question marks. The text in the middle of the screen is correct but all
the buttons, options and headings are just strings of ?????????????.

I have tried running it in console mode (ie not using the GUI) but this
produces another error:

Searching for Java(tm) Virtual Machine...
.........registering shortpathname stringresolver

Does anyone have any ideas or possible solutions for this problem?

Cheers

you might try 'env', and see what things are set to. On an AIX machine I
have access to, the following are set - but I'm not certain which are
relevant

LANG=en_US
TERM=xterm
